Configuring the Eltex NTP-RG-1402G-W router from Rostelecom is performed from the web interface. The model is a multifunctional terminal, which, in addition to basic functions, supports work with telephones and TV sets.

Connecting an Eltex router from Rostelecom

Configuring the Eltex NTP-RG-1402G-W router from Rostelecom is possible only for the optical Internet connected directly to the apartment. Before entering the connection parameters in the web interface, you need to correctly connect the device.

The complete set with the Rostelecom Eltex router contains only a power supply unit and an operating manual. LAN, telephone and TV cables will need to be purchased separately.

The rear panel of the terminal is equipped with many different connectors. There are inputs and outputs here:

  • food;
  • phone (1-2);
  • LAN networks (1-4);
  • optical fiber (PON).

The back of the device also houses a power on / off button and two antennas for optimal signal quality Wi-Fi networks throughout the apartment or office.

The front panel of the router is equipped with information indicators that will help in setting up the device, as well as detecting possible malfunctions.

Here are the LEDs that are responsible for:

  • Wi-Fi connection;
  • TV;
  • LAN devices;
  • telephones;
  • work status;
  • optical connection;
  • power supply of the router.

Before entering the web interface and configuring the Eltex router from Rostelecom to work with the necessary equipment, you will need to connect the power supply and the provider's optical cable. By connecting the power cord to the appropriate connector on the router and computer, you can proceed to configure the parameters of the Internet connection.

Setting up the Internet on Eltex NTPG RG 1402G W

The question arises about how to enter software Eltex router from Rostelecom? Having connected the device as indicated above, all that remains is to open any of the browsers on the computer and enter the IP address 192.168.0.1. To access the web interface for security purposes, you will need to specify a username and password. They both default to "user".

Going into the parameters of the router, for further configuration, go to the "Services" item in the horizontal menu and open the "Ports" tab. For the zero and the first port, select the "Internet" value from the drop-down list, the second and third - STB. We enable the IGMP Snooping parameter.

Open the next tab "Internet". Here we immediately select the automatic launch mode and go directly to the Internet parameters. We set the PPPoE mode. Enter the login and password provided by the provider.

Attention: The password must not contain gaps. All characters are written in lower case. Remember to keep dashes and other characters in mind.

In the IP and MAC addresses, enter 192.168.0.1 and 255.255.255.0, respectively. In the lower left part of the window, click the save button, and then apply the parameters using the item on the right. After that, you will need to reboot the device and the parameters will take effect.

Activating Wi-Fi connection

For turn on Wi-Fi on Eltex NTU RG 1402G W from Rostelecom you will need to go to the web interface parameters on the Network tab. After checking the box, additional fields will appear. Here you will need to set:

  • network identifier (name of access point) - fill in randomly;
  • security mode - WPA or WPA2;
  • encryption method - TKIP / AES;
  • authentication method - secret phrase;
  • WPA secret phrase (password) - fill in randomly.

We confirm and save the parameters.

Port forwarding on Eltex

Port forwarding on Rostelecom Eltex routers is performed using a special program, but first you need to make some changes in the equipment web interface. Having entered it, as described above, you will need to go to the "Network Services" tab located in the upper horizontal menu. Here we set the permission for UPNP, save and apply the changes, and also reboot the device.

Now download the FlylinkDC ++ program. After installing and opening it, go to the settings. Select the "Connection Settings" tab and enter the parameters shown in the screenshot.

If it is necessary to forward other ports, make changes to the corresponding fields. We activate the item "Firewall with UPnP". Restart the program and make sure that the selected parameters are saved. This method can be used to forward port 5000 and others on Eltex equipment from Rostelecom.

Eltex NV 100: media center for Rostelecom

Eltex NV 100 is a multifunctional media player with specially "sharpened" firmware for services from Rostelecom. The main task of the device is to decode the IPTV signal. The rear panel contains connectors:

  • food;
  • AV AUT;
  • HDMI;

Here you can also find a button for downloading updates and restoring software.

To start working with the device, you need to connect the LAN cable to the connector on the media player and router. The audio and video signal output device can be connected in two ways: using an HDMI or AV OUT cable.

The rear USB connector allows you to play movies and music files using an external storage device. In addition, the IPTV player is able to play any materials from the Internet, thanks to the built-in browser.

It is impossible to configure Eltex NV 102 from Rostelecom for another provider, since each operator uses its own signal encryption algorithm.

Multifunctional router with IPTV and telephony support Eltex NTP RG 1402G W in conjunction with the NV 102 media player will be the best option for your home. Such a kit will allow you to use not only high-speed Internet via optical cable, but also enjoy watching digital HD television.

The Eltex NTP RG-1402G-W optical GPON terminal can often be found among Internet subscribers on optics from Rostelecom. Setting up an Internet connection on this optical modem is performed remotely by a technical support operator on your call. The user simply does not have the right to do more. But to configure WiFi on Eltex NTP RG-1402G-W, you can quite easily - change the password, change the name, etc. We will tell about this in this manual.

In order to enter the settings of the Eltex NTP RG-1402G-W optical terminal, you first need to configure the network between the optical set-top box and the computer.

What we did:

  • We went to Network Connections (where the Local Area Connection is)
  • We went into the properties of Local Area Connections and opened the properties of the Internet Protocol TCP \ IP
  • Checked the box next to "Obtain an IP address automatically"

Why is it done - the optical set-top box issues ip-addresses to the connected devices automatically.

What we did:

  • Found the command line;
  • We entered the ping command and indicated the ip of the optical set-top box (192.168.1. 1)
  • An open window and data inside indicates that data is being exchanged between the optical set-top box and the computer. Therefore, we did everything right.

Note: The connection between the optical attachment and the computer must be! It does not depend on the settings of the station equipment! If there is no connection, the problem may be as follows: computer, optical set-top box, computer ETHERNET cable.

Configuring Eltex NTP RG-1402G-W via the web interface

We opened the Internet browser (in this example, Opera), entered the ip-address of the optical set-top box in the address bar (Fig. 1) and enter the password for access (name: user password: user) (fig. 2)

In the opened catalog, select the item "Basic" (Fig. 4)

After going to the "Basic" item, configure the Wi-Fi connection as shown in (Figure 5).

  • Check the Enable Wireless checkbox (turn on Wi-Fi);
  • Set the Enable Wireless Multicast Forwarding (WMF) checkbox (enable the ability to transmit multicast via Wi-Fi);
  • SSID (name of the Wi-Fi network);
  • Max Clients (the number of possible connections to Wi-Fi) - at the discretion of the client.

After that, go to the "Security" item where we set up the encryption mode and password for the Wi-Fi connection (Fig. 6).

Configure the following:

  • Enable WPS - required Disable
  • Select SSID - come up with and enter the name of the Wi-Fi network
  • Network Authentication (encryption mode) is recommended to use - WPA2-PSK;
  • WPA / WAPI passphrase (password for Wi-Fi) - at least 8 characters;
  • WPA / WAPI Encryption - AES.

Then we press the "Apply" button.

After that, go to the "Management" tab and press the "Reboot" button (Fig. 7).

The "Reboot" button will appear after clicking on it, the modem will be rebooted in one minute, and after loading it will be ready to work (Fig. 8-9).

Rostelecom provides its subscribers with various equipment for rent, including routers. The company is not engaged in the production of equipment, but in world practice, a scheme is widely used in which the manufacturer supplies the provider with equipment without a logo, and the provider has already applied his own. Rostelecom does the same (it cooperates with huawei, zte, eltex, sagemcom, etc.), which means that customers may have different models in operation. In this article, we will look at universal ways to gain access to router settings.

How to enter the router settings

So, you got a router for rent or bought it, came home and want to set up the Internet or make any other settings (for example). To do this, you need to open the package, connect the power and cable to the router, but not the one that comes to your apartment from the entrance, but which will connect the router to a computer or laptop. Connect the other end of the cable to your switched on computer. For most router models, the admin panel is available at 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 ... Enter one of them into the address bar of your browser and hit enter.

After that, a window for entering your login and password should appear in front of you.

The login and password for entering are indicated in the operating instructions for the router, but if you could not find such information there, then try the following combinations:

  • login - admin, password - empty
  • login - admin, password - admin
  • login - admin, password - password
  • login - admin, password - 1234

If one of the combinations came up, then a page with available router settings will open in front of you.

If these options did not work, then you need to reset the settings to the factory settings. To do this, find the Reset button on the back wall and hold it down for a few seconds with the router turned on.

Basic settings of the Rostelecom router

The first tab of the router settings displays a summary of the current state of the device. We do not make any adjustments here.

The second tab is used to configure the Internet connection. Select the interface you need (in our case PPPoE / VPN) and click on the "add connection" button.

In the window that opens, you need to select a protocol, come up with a name for the connection, enter a username and password for Internet access (this information should be in your agreement), as well as the server address. Leave the rest of the items in the "auto" state.

If you have several computers at home, then on the next tab you can assign each device its own ip address in your home network.

The next tab is responsible for configuring Wi-Fi. Here you need to set the name of your network, select the type of encryption and come up with a password.

The manufacturer regularly releases firmware updates in which it fixes errors detected by users and adds new functionality to the device. This is why it is worth checking regularly for available updates. Go to the settings tab and find the "update" item there. The screen will display the version of the current firmware and available for updating. All you have to do is click on the "install" button.

As you can see, with minimal knowledge, you can configure the router yourself without calling a company specialist at home. Ask questions in the comments and we will help you, but for now we recommend watching a video on this topic.
